研究概要

近年、メチシリン耐性Staphylococcus pseudintermedius (MRSP) の出現が報告され、犬において増加している。遺伝子型別により、欧州では、sequence type (ST)71-spa t02-SCCmec II–IIIが、北米では ST68-spa t06-SCCmec Vが流行していることが知られている。
本研究では、日本の犬由来MRSPの遺伝学的特徴を明らかにし、欧州、北米の流行株と比較し、日本のMRSPの起源を検索した。

Studies on the origins of methicillin-resistant staphylococci on dogs

Summary

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus pseudintermedius (MRSP) strains have recently been reported, and are increasingly being isolated from dogs. Molecular analysis of MRSP isolates revealed that sequence type (ST)71-spa t02-SCCmec II–III and ST68-spa t06-SCCmec V are the major MRSP clones in Europe and North America, respectively.
To compare the characteristics of MRSP isolates from Japan with those from Europe, North America, and other countries, the current study examined canine MRSP isolates from Japan using MLST and some molecular epidemiological techniques.
All MRSP SCCmec II–III isolates were thought to belong to one clonal lineage that had spread worldwide. However, in this study we confirmed that in Japan, SCCmec II–III elements are present in three related clonal lineages: ST71, ST169, and ST354.
