Procedure for applying for Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research projects in fiscal year 2016
This page states the procedure for applying for Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research projects in fiscal year 2016.
Please refer to this page when preparing Proposal for Grant-in-Aid.
1.First, check the main changes to applications for fiscal year 2016 > IMPORTANT!!
2. Log into the JSPS’s electronic application system.
The electronic application system
- Please contact the Research Support Office if you are unsure of your e-Rad ID and password.
- Check details automatically displayed (name, position, etc.) when imputing “Application Information”(Please contact the Research Support Office if there are any errors in the details shown)
3. Prepare [Project description] for the second part of the research plan statement
Having logged in to the electronic application system, please download the Project description file, then create the text for the second half of the Proposal for Grant-in-Aid.
4. Prepare [Application Information] for the first part of the Proposal for Grant-in-Aid
Log on to the electronic application system
- Input information referring to FY2016 Procedures for Preparing and Entering Application Information(Scientific Research, Challenging Exploratory Research, Young Scientists) (PDF).
* See here for FY2016 Procedures for Preparing and Entering Application Information for research other than Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research, Challenging Exploratory Research and Young Scientists.(Japanese only) - After inputting data, temporarily save, and create a PDF file with the “Project description”.
- Check that there are no mistakes in the information using the “Application Information or Proposal for Grant-in-Aid Check”
- If there are mistakes, amend on the website and temporarily save and check the PDF file.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 until there are no mistakes.
- Finally, print the final version of the PDF file.(Print on both sides)
Please do not click “Confirmation complete/Submit” button when submitting amended applications but be sure to click when submitting the final version of the application.
Please contact the Research Support Office if you would like to amend an application after clicking
“Confirmation complete/Submit” button .

5. Submission of application for proofreading
Check the self check-sheet(here) prior to submitting application for proofreading.

*1 Applications cannot be made without the submission of Written consent of the Co-Investigator. Remember to submit a (copy) of the Written consent of the Co-Investigator by the deadline, regardless of whether the Co-Investigator is affiliated to the same or a different institution. In particular, please contact Co-Investigators affiliated to distant institutions at an early date and ask to provide the Written consent of the Co-Investigator.
*2 Letter of Consent Detailing Relevant Documents for the Application for Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research is approval to view Proposal for Grant-in-Aid and reports in order to provide support required by researchers such as the University acquiring external funding or joint research matching, etc. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

6. Submission
Be sure to click the “Confirmation complete/Submit” button when submitting an application for each category.
TheUniversity cannot submit all research projects to the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science unless you click this button.
