Purpose
  1. Promotion of collaborative research and similar activities at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology in order to contribute to both the development of science and technology and educational research at this university.
  2. Promotion of research and development through collaboration between industry and academia, as well as the promotion of creative forms of research and development which shall lead to the emergence of venture businesses.
  3. To contribute to establishing new industries through the creation of new technology by promoting the protection and active utilization of intellectual property and providing necessary support to university faculty who either started or intend to start business based on the research results of this university.
  4. Development of human resources who are creative and possess high level professional work skills.
  5. Implementation of intellectual property related educational research, and development of human resources responsible for the protection and active utilization of intellectual property.
  6. Promotion of university-wide priority research projects, support of research and development projects conducted by young faculty members, and strategic promotion of research and development from a university-wide perspective. These efforts are implemented for the realization of the university’s research philosophy.
Activities
  1. Strategic coordination of both research and development at the university and the promotion of industry, government, and academia collaboration.
  2. Promotion and support of outside funding injection.
  3. Promotion of university-wide priority research and development projects.
  4. Support of research and development projects conducted by young faculty members.
  5. Provision of facilities and support for both individuals involved in collaborative research and similar activities and university faculty who either started or intend to start business based on the research results of this university, as well as the provision of counseling and other types of necessary support.
  6. Promotion of the protection and active utilization of intellectual property.
  7. Technical training and support for technicians from outside institutions.
  8. Provision of academic information and technical consultations for businesses and other outside institutions.
  9. Promotion of research and development projects, and operation of facilities and equipment for conducting collaborative research, business incubation, and similar activities.
  10. Educational research related to industry, government, and academia collaborations and intellectual property.
  11. Creation and implementation of programs for developing the abilities of center staff.
  12. Educational research to develop free-thinking and creativity among graduate students, etc.
  13. Additional tasks related to university research administration.
